Rats under Honeyngton Session 9

Session 9 (A new Hero)

In Nembutal the heroes are greeted by Baerwen Quent, who had started to put together some troops, including a tulamid as bodyguard, and prepared to travel to the mine himself in case the heroes failed. Finding out what happened, the troops instead accompanied the blessed of Boron from Nembutal to bury the dead in the mine. Baerwen meanwhile helped with the mind controlled people. After the mind control fell off, Nitor was able to answer the questions the heroes had and informed them that in Dukesford he had sent a letter back to Honeyngton by courier. It was given to him sealed by Mara, so he was not aware of its contents but he remembered it had been addressed to the abandoned ghost house in Honeyngton.

While Nitor recovered quickly from his experience, the two old men rescued, Efferdito Nadaljeff from Al‘Anfa

and especially Elko Notjes from Festum,

needed more mental care and were left with the three blessed in Nembutal. To help the heroes further, Baerwen asked his newly hired bodyguard, Ishan ibn Karim, to accompany the heroes and they decided to search Hilberts Farm in more detail for clues on their way back to Honeyngton, as they had to leave quickly last time to catch up to Mara.

On the travel, again in the coach driven by Nitor, the heroes had the chance to get to know their new compatriot. He told them that he learned the trade of bodyguarding in Fasar from his master Marwan Sahib to protect the powerful in the cutthroat ancient tulamid city.

While still talking, a shout from Nitor made them aware of a plume of smoke, right from the direction Hilberts Farm lay. It looked like the letter to Honeyngton sparked allies of Mara to raze the farm. When they came nearer to the smoldering ruins, it became apparent that the fire that destroyed all buildings must have been set intentionally and when the heroes climbed through the ruins and squeezed into the cellar, it appeared whoever did this had removed the statue of the Nameless god, the heroes had seen it there just a week ago, before the fires were set as it couldn’t be found under the ruins.
