Session 8 (Revelations)
The heroes triumphed and thus saved a few prisoners of the cult. Besides their trusted coachman Nitor there were two surviving old men, though it would take a few days before the effects of the nameless mind control would wear off.
Of their enemies most were already dead, and Savertin made sure that Mara would never again have a chance to escape.
A search in the mine found a cave (in the lower left corner on the map) with a fitted door and a number of sleeping places. In another cave (to the right of the map center) was an altar, this was were Mara started killing the old men.
In the forge with a workshop (lower right corner) they found some metal bars, dagger blanks and drawings showing a host of different designs of daggers, one depicting the dagger used by Mara to sacrifice the prisoners.
Both dwarfs seemed to have lived in the cave at the top left, with visitors like the 3 stablehands from Hilberts farm that fought against the heroes, sleeping outside in the tents.
My heroes didn’t enter the deeper levels of the mine with their best fighter Barukh almost dead and a number of people taken prisoner or not trusted. As I expected this, I didn’t bother making a battle map for deeper into the mine.
The decision was made to return to Nembutal and inform the blessed of Praios, Boron and Hesinde in the hope they could remove the nameless mind control of Nitor and the two saved old men.
