NPCwednesdays #12

It's only fitting that the twelfth NPC is a blessed one of the twelvegods.

Praios is the leader of the pantheon of the twelvegods and his blessed ones are revered or even feared as they represent order, rule, truth and justice.

In the lands of the Tulamids his position is not as prominent as in the Middenrealm for example. Tulamids believe in a number of gods, not all of the part of the pantheon of the twelvegods and even those part of the pantheon have often different meaning and importance. For example Phex, often written Feqz by the Tulamids, is seen as the prime god by many, also responsible for magic, while Hesinde is less prominent. Also worshipped are local gods and not every entity is actually a god. Quite a number of Demons managed to attract cults over the last couple of millennia in the lands of the Tulamids.

Aurelia was born as Layla saba Khalid in Fasar and lives on the hill the Tulamids call Yol Topas and the settlers with Middenrealm heritage living on it call Sunslope. On the peak of this hill sits one of of the most important temples of Praios in the lands of the Tulamids and Layla grew up in awe of its golden cupola. As she grew older she entered the church as an acolyte and was assigned to the Primus Bibliothekarius, the head librarian of the temple. Here she learned reading and writing and the ways of the church. And her curiosity let her find ancient texts that spoke of some of the old cults of the Tulamids that worshipped demonic creatures pretending to be gods. Just a couple of months ago, Layla was ordained as a Bessed one of Praios and took the name of Aurelia. To prove her worth to her god and the church, she is now looking to find ancient places of worship to cleanse them of any remaining signs of demonic taint.

This is actually far beyond her capabilities, so Aurelia will be in dire need of heroes to help her with her task. Coming from the movement of Principists within the church of Praios, she is relatively open about magic, as long as her compatriots use it for good deeds.

While she has a few capabilities to deal with magic, she is mainly useful for the knowledge of history and myths that guides her on her quest.
