Slavery is a common sight in the southern half of aventuria. And by far most notorious for its slaves is Al’Anfa, the Sore of the South. And while Alrik Middenrealmer might think those slaves are all “Moha” or Forest Folk, slaves actually come from almost all corners of Aventuria. Like Alwin Bornski, from Firunen in the Bornland. He started out as a marine mercenary covering commercial shipping to the bornish colonies in the Forest Islands. This brought him into conflict with the empire of Al’Anfa that considers these islands its sphere of influence. The colonial powers occasionally clash and one of those clashes made Alwin a prisoner of war and thus a slave. He wasn’t a very docile slave but strong and an experienced fighter, so he ended up in the arena as a gladiator. And eventually gained his freedom.
In the Bornland Kor hasn’t been as revered as in the southern half of aventuria. During his mercenary days Alwin learned of him and as a gladiator he became a devoted follower and once free he became blessed.
While his ultimate loyalty is to his god, the principles of Kor make Alwin loyal bodyguard even to the death. Currently he protects Gordo, even against righteous heroes.
