When the Middenrealm sent troops to the island of Maraskan to quell an uprising in Tuzak, a contingent of albernian soldiers under the command of the legendary hero Raidri Conchobair were there and Moran Aranol was among them. He served for years on the island fighting against the partisans there and finally retired in his homeland Albernia. Then came civil war to Albernia and he used what he learned against the forces of the Northmarches, hitting them and fading back into the woods. He is now quite old and his hands are less nimble than they were and his constitution has suffered as well, making wearing heavier armour more cumbersome than it used to be. But he is still a brilliant fighter with the Nightwind he found in Maraskan and has a few tricks up his sleeve.
