Not every ship has a Blessed of Efferd on board. The HEV Sealion has and Efferdina is actually part of the reason why the Sealion is such a fast vessel. Her proficiency in the liturgy Call Wind can give Lelia a significant edge in two hour intervals.

But Efferdina is not like any loyal member of the imperial Navy, her primary loyalty is to her god Efferd. And like him she can be moody, sometimes very quick-tempered like a storm, in other moments quiet like a mirror-calm sea.

But still everyone likes to have a Blessed of Efferd on board, the subjective odds of survival are much more in favour of the crew.
