Skirmishers are mainly seen in larger battles, though they can be also useful in the role of reconnaissance or support their heavier colleagues with ranged attacks. Athinos Bythros ventured far from his home on the cyclops islands, first fighting in the civil war in the Horasian Empire and then travelling up the Yaquir river. He didn’t dare to seek employment in the shadowlands, he joined a group of mercenaries protecting merchant caravans. Sometimes he disguises as lone traveler and scouts ahead of the main caravan. But often he is tasked with disturbing robbers with ranged weapons. There it help that he is often overlooked.
