Some just want to see the world burn. Ashtarra only took this hobby up recently. When she was born some hundreds of years ago, from an egg nonetheless, a Mage had already killed her mother and stolen the egg. Part curiosity but also part of vengeance after guild mages lost their status in Arania to the benefit of Witches. This unnamed Mage went into hiding in a cave system and became a Quabala Mage. Carefully re-learning his spells to cast them without audible formula to be more stealthy in the now hostile Arania. Ashtarra learned these Quabalya ways and for a long time did not realise how her mentor had changed her fate. He did not survive her finding out for long. She took over the cave hideout and also the Ferkina tribe her mentor had subdued. She threw herself at the books of her mentor and for some decades started to grow crystals for her experiments. Recently she became bored with this and decided to carve out her dominion, befitting the crystal crown she made. Maybe she needs the right prince on her side, regardless if there is a volunteer, her minions, human or otherwise, will find her one.
